Community: def. a unified body of individuals; people with common interest living in a particular area; an interacting population of various kinds of individuals in a common location.

Few words but they convey a very large meaning.  Within Mount Clemens and the central Macomb County area, do the residents collectively reflect a community that has a purpose or desire to promote the common interest of all?  If so, how do we achieve such a lofty and admirable goal?  We are confident that the answer to this question would generate a variety of responses, but for the purpose of this discussion we propose one single objective:
the creation of a for-profit, public corporation to assume ownership and operation of the Emerald Theater.   An opportunity may exist that will result in a change of the Theater’s ownership.  By the creation of a publicly owned entity, residents and interested members of the community can have a vested interest in this historic structure and a voice in the operation of the facility.  Specifically, the programming and events that would be held can be directed by the owners – our own local residents!  We envision an entity that will have an elected Board of Directors and annual shareholder meetings.  The property will remain on the tax rolls and become the centerpiece of our efforts to make Mount Clemens the entertainment capital of Macomb County.

Imagine, if you will, morning magic shows and performances by Rosco the Clown
every Saturday morning for children and families; Sunday morning Brunch with Bach styled performances; a permanent home for our own“Box Theater Company”; a performance venue for professional traveling theater companies; a venue for a Fringe Festival; movie festivals …. the possibilities are endless.  The major object is to assure that some manner of entertainment or event is being held at the theater at all times . . . . . events that would have a broad-based interest to the community at large, that would draw visitors into our downtown.  The benefit to our fine local restaurants and retailers would be an added bonus.

We can all participate. We can take control of our future and help our community.  Not only will you be investing in performance venue, you’ll be investing in the long term viability of Mount Clemens.

This is not a solicitation for the sale of any ownership interest.  This is simply an effort to gauge community interest.  Below, you will find a link to a response form.  If you are willing and excited about possibly participating in this concept, we simply ask that you complete and submit your response. This stage of our inquiry will last no more than forty-five (45) days.  After forty-five days, we will determine if a realistic response has been offered by you – the members of our community.  If a positive response results, we, in turn, will develop a formal offer of ownership in a clearly described document.  The initial solicitation period would last for approximately ninety (90) days after which we would finalize an offer to the Theater’s current owners.  If the concept does not proceed or succeed, a full refund would be made to all investors.

Interested?  Can you envision the dream and the concept?  If so, please click on the link below and complete the response form.

Thank you for your interest and thank you for caring about the future of Mount Clemens!

YES!  I'm Interested!
